Nick contacted John Wood in October 1971 to begin work on what would be his last album. In the studio , he came around midnight , holding a guitar. Recording of the album took two nights in late October 1971 and in total - only four hours . In the studio, there were only Drake and Wood. During these sessions the night Nick was in a deep depression , for all the time he said Voodoo only a few words , and when he asked him what was the matter , Nick mumbled something unintelligible and left.
The magazine Zigzag critic Connor McKnight wrote:
Nick Drake - this is an artist who never pretends to be . Album leaves no stone unturned in the theory that music should be escapist . It's just a moment of perception of the musician's life , and you can not ask for more .
I personally myself zavorazhen this deep, mysterious , sad , charming album - when you listen to just drown in the music. album lasts 28 minutes , but any longer and it is not necessary at all. he is considered one of the best music albums in the history of being in the top hundred .
